Spanish to Bear Drop

Monday, July 29th - Spanish Marina to Coursol Bay
Sailing west up Whale’s Back Channel, Carpe Diem opted to leave the group and remain near Spanish to explore the nearby islands.
Seven boats continued to the snug Bay of Coursol with a friendly wind from the East.  New comer Larry Knowles in Guenter Arlt’s Sundowner fared well in his initial sail. Learning Dovekie trim engaged him so much he added the second week to his schedule.

Tuesday, July 30thCoursol with goal of hideaway on the North shore of Dewdney Island
With winds SWS, the group sailed West. Zephyr stayed behind until Sundowner rigged sails.  Other boats were soon out of sight but were located by radio at a lunch and swim break off Muloch Island. Passing flocks of gulls with gray juveniles calling “please please please” begging for food, Zephyr chased
Sundowner to change directions and followed the group to raft for the evening at Bear Drop .
