We (Mike and Tammy joined me around 7PM) set up the stove
and lantern on the remaining portion of a deck that was part of a 1920's
vintage barge houseboat - the houseboat has been moved across the
bay to the Bayman's Museum in Tuckerton as an exhibit of Barnegat Bay heritage,
but the deck and a few outbuildings remain in place. The deck made
an excellent platform for us to watch the sunset and see many herons fly
in to roost in the trees around us. The mosquitos decided it was
time for us to turn in so we took the hint! After a challenging sail
and a relaxing afternoon we were very ready for some sleep. Plan
to get up very early tomorrow and try to beat the heavy wind back to Trixie's. |
